Renovation update 9/1/23

Renovation update 9/1/23

We have been pretty busy this summer.

Our oldest son has been away at boot camp working on becoming a US Marine. We are so proud of him and it's been pretty emotional with him gone, so we are keeping busy and I am focusing more on this blog, a creative outlet, and journal of our progress. We are doing most of the work ourselves so things are moving pretty slow. We are now on the home run stretch and things should be moving faster, and so should this blog!! People need to see progress! And how can you have an interior design blog if your just buffering at gutted farmhouse for 29 months!!!. But I digress. Welcome to our adventure.  I'm glad you are here. We will be talking about paint color selection in the next post as well as interior design inspiration. You can see my mental journey going from concept to completion. If you are patient, haha.

Let's start here, this usually when I join a project as the Interior designer anyway.

But before that a quick progress update:

Rough Plumbing complete

Spray foam in the attic done

Next step- Controlling the water!

Gutters installed

Leader drains and French drains installed to move water away from the house. While Bill was digging a huge ditch in the 200 year old yard I was sifting through the dirt searching for treasure.

and I found amazing treasure!!

Pottery shards, glass, coal annnd!!!! A huge brass button!!!

I'm stocked!!!

Then Bill poured a concrete patio in the back of the house to 1, stabilize the rear foundation.  2, divert water away from the house. 3, to sit on and have cocktails.

We are still busy working, no cocktail photo yet.

Let me know if you have any questions  on what we did or how we did it.

Thanks for following along,

Lauren
